Hi all!  If you’ve found your way here after seeing me on Jeopardy!, thank you for watching.

 

It was the thrill of a lifetime to compete there.  Jeopardy! has been a favorite of mine since childhood, and I’ve gained increased appreciation in the past several years for the way it encourages us to come together and learn more about the world around us.

 

Fundamentally, those are the same things I feel made the Albany Twin such a valuable community resource for almost 90 years, and the same reasons the Friends of the Albany Twin, the 501(c)(3) organization we’ve formed, are continuing to work towards its future.

 

As we’ve shared previously, we are in active ongoing conversations with the property owner about the possibility of acquiring the theater.  We’re also continuing to connect with other similar theaters, building a network of resources for our comeback.

 

We look forward to sharing more when the time is right.  For now, we appreciate your trust and good wishes.  We’re delighted to see local small businesses thriving on Solano and San Pablo - things will be even brighter when we turn that marquee back on!

 

Albany is a wonderful community that deserves spaces like the Twin for us to join up and laugh, cry, gasp, cheer, remember, and more.  I’m thrilled I could share about this on national TV,  and look forward to being back in our sweet theater with you all soon.
